Ruth Byrd

Communications Coordinator

Ruth Byrd joined the Refuge KC team in 2024, using her skills in data analytics and communications to promote Refuge KC's work. Ruth received her bachelor's degree in counseling with an emphasis in services to the deaf and political science from East Central University in 2021. While at ECU, she poured herself into research and study of the cross-cultural impacts of public policy.  In 2023, she received her master's degree in Intercultural Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, cementing her desire to continue seeking ways to engage cross-culturally.   Ruth has had a heart for cross-cultural relationships for as long as she can remember—spending time learning and serving in both West Asia and North Africa.
