God Determines Time & Place

In Acts 17:26-27, we read that "God made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward Him and find Him."  For Vicki and I, we find that this is true for our family and the refugee families we work with.  Over six years ago, God relocated our family from Thailand to Kansas City and planted us in the midst of nations that He was bringing over from SE Asia, across Africa, Europe, and other nations being displaced from the face of the earth.  This humanitarian crises, although unprecedented in our time, is not a surprise to He who determines the time and place of our dwelling!  Look what God is doing!

Welcoming Burmese Muslim Families

One of our big summer events was held in July at the apartments on Lawn where most of the tenants are Burmese Muslims.  The outreach gave us the opportunity to return to welcome each family individually with a welcome gift as well as a presentation of the Gospel.
With the help of Dan and Karen Blankenship from Lifequest Church as well as Craig and Lorinda Howard from Mission Southside, we had a great summer outreach day with our Burmese Muslim neighbors.
In partnership with Crossworld, Refuge KC is teaching English as a Second Language classes to some of the refugees residing in Northeast Kansas City.  A huge thanks to Bales Avenue Community Church and Liberty Christian Fellowship for serving during this event!

Refuge KC has adopted Englewood Sports Exchange into the 501(c)(3) family.  Kyle Kumer founded this sports ministry in north Kansas City at the apartment complex on Englewood and Waukomis.  The current effort includes transporting the soccer players to Saturday games at Graceway on Blue Ridge Cutoff.  We are looking for volunteers to help drive (a CDL is a plus, but not required).
Refuge KC is funded through givers like you.  Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us today to reach the nations that God is bringing to Kansas City?  Just click on the "ways to give" button to find out more!
